About
Chohn (pronounced “Shawn”) T. Hickman was admitted to the bar in 1997 and has practiced commercial litigation, probate, and real estate law continuously since that time. Representing clients across the State of Texas, Chohn advocates for claims of various sizes in disputes involving breaches of contract, breaches of fiduciary duty, negligence, construction projects, and probate litigation. Chohn also guides clients through corporate governance and transactional matters in various business organizations, including non-profit churches. Chohn takes on a number of pro bono projects that qualify him annually for the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas. Effective, ethical, reasoned, and zealous representation define his practice.
Chohn received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M University at College Station in 1993, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston in 1997. While maintaining his law practice, Chohn completed his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2014.
Chohn traveled extensively as a “military brat,” before arriving in Texas in 1981. A resident of Burleson, Johnson County, Texas, Chohn is engaged in local politics, plays guitar in the praise band at church, collects guitars, and is an avid football (Gig ‘em, Aggies!) and basketball fan. Chohn is a staunch supporter of the Second and Fourth Amendments of the United States Constitution, a concealed carry permit holder, and responsible gun owner. Chohn is married to Tara, and they live with their four dogs on a rural property just outside the city.
